Gornergrat at 3089 meters (10'134 feet) above sea level

Experience the wonders that nature has created over thousands of years. The panorama on the Gornergrat is one of the most beautiful in Zermatt, with magnificent view to 29 four-thousand-meter peaks. Whether summer or winter – the Gornergrat offers something for everyone. In summer there are a wide variety of walking and hiking trails. The start of the biking trail from Gornergrat to Zermatt starts right next to the train station. Rotenboden (the last station before Gornergrat) is the starting point of the hiking tour to the Monte Rosa hut (only for good hikers and a mountain guide is strongly recommended), or you can take a easy walk past the Riffelsee to Riffelberg. In winter, the ski area around the Gornergrat is easily accessible from the Rothorn side and offers easy slopes for not so skilful skiers. At Rotenboden starts the most beautiful winter walking trail in Zermatt, as well as the toboggan run.

Matterhorn Glacier Paradise at 3883 meters (12'739 feet) above sea level

An excursion to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise promises a special and unforgettable experience. The summit of Klein Matterhorn offers a viewing platform with a 360° panoramic view, and the world’s highest glacier palace. In winter you have the possibility to enjoy ski slopes down to Italy.

Sunnegga-Blauherd-Rothorn

The perfect hiking region and the starting point of the famous 5-lakes-walk. In winter you can enjoy a marvelous ski area with a wide variety of slopes and an easy connection to the Gornergrat ski area. The metro station to Sunnegga/Rothorn is only at a 3 minutes walking distance from our hotel.

Zermatt Unplugged

For almost ten years, the Zermatt Unplugged is taking place in April. As the name suggests, it is a festival where the artists use only acoustic instruments. The Zermatt Unplugged is spread over the whole village, with the main stage (circus tent) in the village center of Zermatt. Zermatt Marathon

The annual Zermatt Marathon has been taking place for more than ten years. A marathon of the extra class from St. Niklaus up to the Gornergrat on over 3000 meters above sea level. For an experienced marathon runner, the Zermatt Marathon is certainly a highlight and a challenge. Sign up early, on 1 July 2017 it is time again!
